The Macchi C.205 Veltro was one of the three italian fighthers belonging to the so called "Serie 5" and it was built around the powerful Daimler Benz 605 engine.

The "Veltro" was able to compete with the best figthers of the alley air forces both in terms of speed and maneuvrability. Due to the poor italian industrial capacity, only a few airplanes were available before the conclusion of WW2.

The Macchi C. 205 was able to achieve a maximum speed of 400mphand it was equipped with two 20mm canons and two 12.7mm Breda gun machines. It was respected by the alleys pilots and by the german air force.
